Internal Complaint Redressal Cell

Women anti sexual harassment grievance redressal cell are meant to safeguard and promote well being of all women students and employees of the college. It takes care of all complaints on sexual harassment and meets the requirements of women staff and students.
Objectives

  1. To develop a responsible and compassionate attitude among the students and staff.
  2. The cell will deal with the complaints of sexual harassment and any other type of harassment of female students, teaching, non-teaching women staff of the college.
  3. To provide confidential and supportive environment and to ensure the fair and timely redressal of harassment complaints.
  4. To provide necessary counselling.

The Role of the cell

Prevent discrimination and sexual harassment against women, by promoting gender amity among the students and employees and deal with cases. In 1997, the Supreme Court recognized and addressed the issue of sexual harassment at the workplace. The judgment created mandatory sexual harassment prevention guidelines for the workplace, applicable all over India. The knowledge and information about it can lead to a workplace free of sexual harassment for all persons. Ministry of law and justice recently published “The sexual harassment of woman at workplace (prevention, prohibition and redressal)” Act on 22nd April 2013, as per this act it is mandatory for every organization to have internal complaints committee. This document is to be read in conjunction with “Sexual harassment of women at workplace (Prevention, prohibition and redressal) act-2013.

Functions of the Cell

The office of the Cell act as an educational resource as well as a Internal complaint centre for the members of the faculty, staff and students.

Its mandate is :

  • To provide a neutral, confidential and supportive environment for members of the campus. 
  • To advice complaints of the informal and formal means of resolution as specified by the Cell
  • To ensure the fair and timely resolution of sexual harassment complaints.
  • To provide information regarding counselling and support services.
  • To promote awareness about sexual harassment through educational initiatives.
